Usage Tips by shoe type

Dress Shoes
• If HeelTec™ has been used on freshly polished dress shoes please clean prior to placing onto sneakers (preferably using a degreaser such as Shout™ sprayed around the elastic opening) to keep the polish from staining white sneakers.

• Before using HeelTec™ on Suede shoes it is best to treat suede shoes with a stain repellent due to the fact that with heavy use HeelTec™ will absorb some dirt around its opening which may stain suede shoes. It is also recommended to clean HeelTec™ before placing on suede shoes.

Sneakers
*Note: Although HeelTec™ is designed primarily for dress\casual shoes it can also be used effectively on sneakers with a few extra precautions.

• With heavy use HeelTec™ will eventually become soiled. The user can tell by a light colored dust ring where the elastic opening of HeelTec™ comes in contact with the shoe. This will indicate that it is time to clean HeelTec™.

• It is recommended and good for overall shoe care and appearance to use baby wipes (Huggies™, etc.) for spot cleaning of sneakers and light colored shoes. This will compliment the use of HeelTec™ and is perfect between washings for removing the light dust mark that may occur if HeelTec™ has not been laundered. Shout™ is also very good for cleaning the rubber soles of sneakers.

• HeelTec™ will also need to have the inside portion occasionally wiped clean with a baby wipe or other moist cloth due to dirt and dust being tracked into the product with use. This is especially true if it is raining and water and dirt are on the shoes.
